In early April Local 70 hosted an organizing meeting designed to update JC7 officers, officials, stewards and freight members on the IBT's ongoing organizing campaign at USF's subsidiaries Bestway and Dugan. It was combined with Local 70's spring Stewards Council meeting. Close to forty 70 members participated. Randy Korgan IBT Organizer and four rank and file organizers from the Western Region brought everyone current on representation elections taking place across the country and then encouraged Teamster members to get involved.

It's about time

The IBT focus on US Freight is timely. It's an effort to organize on a large scale in one of the core Teamster industries – trucking. As Teamster members who attended the meeting found out, the program is imaginative and creative. It can work if our Local's members partner with the International.
