MEMBERS SIGN UP FOR DRIVEDuring the second week of April, Business Agent/Political Action Coordinator Lou Marchetti and IBT Representative Jack Peasley visited Local 70 worksites to sign members up for DRIVE. The response was overwhelming. Not only did they get many first time pledges, a good number of long term participants changed their weekly contribution from $1 to $2 or $3 and even more. “A lot of our members have been giving a dollar a week for more than twenty years. When you explain the importance of the DRIVE program in this current political climate, it wasn't a hard sell to get them to give more;” said Marchetti. At Quality Terminal Services (QTS) pictured above they made a first time attempt to get pledges. In less than an hour over 90% of the members signed DRIVE cards. With the November election coming up, it is more important than ever to participate in DRIVE. This program enables the Teamsters to support candidates that support you. See your Business Agent, Shop Steward, Worksite Political Coordinator or contact Local 70's office to obtain a DRIVE application. |
