Local 70 members who work at Ashland Chemical approved a new five year contract this past December.

Dominic Chiovare and Jim Brown who represented the Local in talks advise the new agreement has $2.50 an hour in wages over its life, an increase in pension contributions, and significant improvements in health and welfare.

They also succeeded in getting one of the driver's key demands - selection of runs by seniority.

Ashland employs twenty Local 70 members and is the former AMSCO Company that was located in Oakland.
